Baked Red Velvet Donuts with Chocolate Frosting
Ingredients
Donut
- 1 box red velvet cake mix
- 1 cup milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
Frosting
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
Donut
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Prepare donut pan by spraying with non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl combine cake mix, milk, vegetable oil and egg.Ā Mix completely.
- Place batter in piping bag and pipe into donut pan.
- Bake for about 7 mins or until done.
- Allow to cool some and remove from the pan.
Frosting
- In a small bowl combine powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla and 2 tablespoons milk and mix completely.Ā If the mixture is too thick add more milk a little at a time until you get a smooth consistency.Ā
- Turn donuts upside down and dip the top of the donut into the frosting.
- Place on parchment paper, add sprinkles and allow to sit for about 15 minutes.
