Cherry Cheesecake Coffee Cake Recipe
This recipe takes a bit of time to make, but it’s seriously delish and totally worth the time. It would be great for Christmas morning, Valentine’s Day, or a special Sunday breakfast with the family, and I think it would be awesome with a blueberry filling as well.
Coffee cake is one of my favorite morning treats. A long time ago, I used to think coffee cake actually contained coffee. Well, I was at work; it does not contain coffee. I know coffee cake is something you automatically assume it is, but there is a little more to why it’s called coffee cake. This tasty and sweet treat, referred to as coffee cake, is often paired with a cup of caffeinated goodnessāyes, coffee. Because it’s typically served with coffee, well, that’s why we call it coffee cake.

Cherry Cheesecake Coffee Cake Batter
First, you’ll preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9×9 pan.
Next, combine the flour (I used Bob’s Red Mill Organic Unbleached White All-Purpose Flour , baking powder, baking soda, salt, and both sugars in a large mixing bowl. Cut in butter until it’s crumbly. Using a mixer, mix completely. Add the egg, vanilla, and sour cream and mix together.
Remove about 1/2 cup of the mixture and set it aside for later.
Press the remaining mixture into the prepared pan.
Cherry Cheesecake Coffee Cake Filling:
Combine cream cheese, egg, sugar and mix together. Add cherry pie filling and mix.
Spread over the mixture already in prepared pan.
Using a spoon, spoon the leftover batter over the top of the cherry pie filling. There probably will not be enough batter to cover the top, which is fine.
Cherry Cheesecake Coffee Cake Crumble Topping:
Combine all ingredeints in a medium sized bowl. Using a fork or pastry blender combine ingrdients until it becomes a crumble mixture.
Sprinkle over the top of your cake and lightly press down using your pan.
Place in ove for 20 to 30 minutes until golden brown on top and toothpicks are done.
