Oh, who doesn’t remember the old fashioned lunch lady brownies?

Old Fashion Lunch Lady Brownies
I always looked forward to lunch when I knew the lunch ladies would be making their tasty brownies. I won’t lie, these are not nearly as good but I’ll be honest, I seriously don’t think I’ve ever had a lunch lady brownie that can compare to the ones we had in school.

If you have a recipe or know of someone who has one, I would be all about trying it if you think it compares to the brownies we had in school.
Lunch Lady Brownies
Take it back old school with the fudgy lunch lady brownies so many of us remember and love. I still don't think I've found a recipe that can compete with the old school lunch lady brownies but these are close.
Brownies
- 2 cups cups brown sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup butter (melted)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
Frosting
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup butter (softened)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup milk
Brownies
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare brownie pan with non-stick spray.
In a large mixing bowl combine flour, brown sugar, cocoa powder, salt and whisk together until all lumps are gone.
Add eggs, butter, and vanilla and mix completely.
Pour evenly into brownie pan and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until toothpick done in the center.
Remove from oven and allow to cool before frosting.
Frosting
In a medium-sized mixing bowl combine powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, butter and mix the best you can.
Add the milk a little at a time, mixing between until you reach the desired consistency.
You might not use all of the milk so be sure to add it little by little.
Frost brownies, cut and enjoy.
These lunch lady brownies were a bit thick, I personally didn’t mind but if you are not into thick brownies you might consider decreasing the recipe a bit or placing them into a larger pan.
