Spicy Honey BBQ Wings

Oven Baked Spicy Honey BBQ Chicken Wings

I made these spicy honey BBQ chicken wings using Sue Bee Sweet & Spicy BBQ Sauce and Sue Bee Hot Honey, and they turned out delicious. Just the right amount of heat for this girl. However, for those of you who like extra spicy wings, you can definitely add additional seasonings and marinate wings in the seasonings for a bit. I skipped the marinating process, but they still turned out delicious and with grilling season here you can’t go wrong with wings.

The best part about these spicy honey BBQ chicken wings other than the taste is you only need a few ingredients to make it happen.

2 pounds chicken wings

Salt and pepper (or other seasonings for added spice if you like them super spicy)

1/2 cup Sue Bee Sweet & Spicy BBQ Sauce

1/4 Cup Sue Bee Hot Honey

Place chicken wings in a bowl and season to your liking. I only used salt and pepper, but you could definitely add any extra seasonings, especially if you like extra spicy chicken wings.

Lay chicken wings out on a baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes. Flip and bake for about 10 minutes or until the top is crispy, and if needed, flip one more time, baking for about an additional 10 minutes until both sides are nice and crispy.

Combine Sue Bee BBQ Sauce and Hot Honey and brush a thin coat on both sides of each wing while they are still hot and right out of the oven. Go back over each wing until you have the desired amount of BBQ sauce on each wing.

If there is any grease on the wings, be sure to pat off the excess grease with a paper towel. Last time I made BBQ wings, I used a thin dusting of flour to help the BBQ sauce stick better, which also worked well.

I’m a fan of Sue Bee products, several years back I was lucky enough to go on a trip for my other blog, Jenns Blah Blah Blog to Sioux City, IA to learn all about Sue Bee. Where we were able to meet the bee’s and learn all about the honey making process.

Bees

See that’s me, in a little bee kepper suite! We had such a good time and learned so much about the company Sue Bee, the honey making process and of course the importance of bees. So I’m sure you can understand my excitement when we connected again.

Spicy Honey BBQ Chicken Wings

While Sue Bee didn’t ask us to create this recipe, I did want to tell them thank you for sending us these some of their Honey BBQ Sauce, Sweet & Spicy BBQ Sauce and some of their Hot Honey. If you have not Sue Bee products, they are amazing. Everything from their honey to their BBQ sauce is top tier, but if you are a honey BBQ sauce fan like myself, I can’t suggest Sue Bee Honey BBQ sauce enough.

Last time I made BBQ wings, I used a very light dusting of flour to help the BBQ sauce stick better, which also worked well. With this you’ll just put a little flour on your hands and rub it on the wing, then apply BBQ sauce.
