This old-fashion peanut butter fudge recipe has been our go-to recipe for as long as I can remember, and I'm sure before I was born.

- 3 Cups Sugar
- 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Cup Canned Milk
- 1 Cup Peanut Butter
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla

Start out by preparing an 8x8 baking dish by lining with wax paper.
In a medium saucepan bring the sugar, canned milk and salt to a boil over medium-high heat. Be sure to stir continuously until it reaches a boil. Then turn down to medium heat, stirring occasionally until it’s finished.
If you are using a thermometer, the fudge will be ready when the temperature reaches 235 degrees. You can also do the ball test. To do this, you’ll need a cup of ice water and a metal spoon. After your fuge has been boiling for about five minutes, drizzle a little of the fudge from the pan into a cup of ice water. If you are able to form a ball, it’s done.
Once it’s finished, remove from the heat and add peanut butter and vanilla. You'll want to mix everything together quickly but completely so it doesn't set up on you before you get it into your pan.
Pour into your prepared 8x8 pan and allow to sit for about 2 hours.
